Presented by the Energy and Sustainability Committee (The Green Team), this lecture is a proactive program to give insight to those who may be considering solar energy in either a commercial or residential setting.

In terms of purchasing a commercial solar energy system, our speaker will focus on: Federal Tax Credits: Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and accelerated depreciation; New Jersey State Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) program; Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program; private financing including Power Purchase Agreements (PPA); current state of the industry in New Jersey; and distributed energy, grid resilience, and other important issues. All of this information will then be applied to answering the question: Why invest in a commercial solar energy system?

For those interested in exploring the options of solar energy in a residential home, a second speaker will focus on all of the possibilities available to the homeowner. Issues such as cost effectiveness as well as sustainability benefits will be explored. If you have been interested, but intimidated by solar–this is the lecture to attend!

The goal of this program is to have an open discussion on the pros and cons of investing today in solar energy for your business or home. Even if you do not own your property, you can still benefit from solar. After this event you will understand how you can make “green” while being “green” with solar!

Vaniv Kalish, CEO, SolarKal
Yaniv Kalish is the founder and CEO of SolarKal, an award-winning solar energy advisory firm that advises businesses, corporations, and real estate owners on solar transactions. He serves as a thought leader in commercial solar, speaking regularly at industry events. Yaniv is a graduate of Tel Aviv University and the Columbia Business School.

Ted Repetti, Solar Loan Program Manager, PSE&G
Ted manages PSE&G’s Solar Loan Program focused on providing financing to residential and commercial & industrial customers for photovoltaic solar energy systems. Since 2008, PSE&G has financed over 110MW of distributed solar on homes and businesses in New Jersey.

Prior to joining PSE&G, Ted led project financings of utility scale renewable energy projects, both in the U.S. and in emerging market countries, while at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office, and closed over $1.7 billion of debt financing to energy projects. Ted began his career in investment banking and corporate valuation.

Ted graduated from The College of New Jersey. He is a CFA Charterholder.
