Intern Corner: An Introduction to Kunjal Shah

Posted on Categories Chamber News, Intern Corner

I have been an Economic Research and Public Policy intern at the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce for a week now, and I can already say that I am going to really enjoy my time here. I am a junior in the School of Business at The College of New Jersey. I am currently a management major, but the field of economics has always been something I loved, which is why this internship really interested me. As soon as I walked through the door on my first day, the entire staff was kind and greeted me with open arms and I have never worked in a more inviting and friendly atmosphere.

Although I have been exposed to performing economic research before in class, I have never utilized my economic research skills in a professional setting for business purposes. I have already learned how to gather and compile economic information that is useful for local businesses in making key decisions and where to look in order to find that data. I have also built relationships and networked with different local businesses by interning at the chamber.

Throughout my time, I look forward to learning how to bridge the gap between businesses and the government and also learning how to maximize the amount of economic growth potential an area has. I am also excited with the idea of working on behalf of the local businesses in the Mid-Jersey area and acting as a liaison between them and the government. I am extremely appreciative for having the opportunity to intern at the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce and I cannot wait to learn many of the new skills I know I will learn by interning here!
