New York, NY (August 6, 2018) SolarKal, a commercial solar energy advisor, recently completed work with real estate developer OCI Group on the integration of solar into 747 Grand, a multi-family residence in Jersey City. The system will generate nearly 54,000 kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually, and offset the building’s common area electricity use. This is equivalent to planting 50 acres of trees. The solar system will have paid for itself after only three years. SolarKal is now working with OCI on solar installation on other real estate developments in New Jersey.
Yaniv Kalish, CEO of SolarKal said that “its great to see more and more multi-family developers incorporate solar in their building. It makes financial sense, increases property value and increases occupancy. For OCI, our propriety procurement process delivered higher-quality solar panels at a price 30% below what OCI had originally been quoted. Going solar can look complicated if not done right, so we’re happy more real estate owners choose to use advisors to simply the process, while saving time and money.”
Yuval Shram, Managing Partner of OCI shared that the company was “intrigued by the idea of integrating solar into the construction of 747 Grand, but we were hesitant to move forward without reviewing multiple quotes. Once we saw how labor intensive it would be to do the proper research, assess equipment quality, decipher tax incentives and find a trustworthy solar installer, we knew we needed a solar consultant. SolarKal was there every step of the way as part of our team. They saved us time and money. They did a tremendous job analyzing, managing and advising us from beginning to end, and are now managing the process for us on other properties.”
SolarKal, a commercial solar advisor, works with businesses, property owners and managers nationwide on navigating the transition to solar energy from first site visit to installation. The company was named the winner in New York State’s 76 West Clean Energy Competition.
